Synopsis

The following is a description of the process of selecting and recruiting schools, classrooms and teachers for the completion of the Exploring School Culture (ESCU) survey.

The ESCU-survey was part of the “Exploring School Culture” research project, funded by the Velux foundation. The survey was collected among Danish 6^th and 9^th students and their respective mathematics and Danish teachers, during the first half of 2019.

The following topics will be addressed.

Survey development and validation
Sampling process
Recruitment
Non-response
Comparison of respondents to full population of students
