GSC Living Labs
GSC Living Labs are “spaces” where open research and innovation are encouraged.
By placing the end user at the center and surrounding them with cross-disciplinary knowledge, Living Labs increase the likelihood of developing better solutions that address the specific needs and ambitions of the user. This makes the solutions easier to accept and implement.
Living Labs can be either physical or real-life environments, such as a farm, a retail setting, a community, or a test facility. They are “ecosystems” where researchers, end users, stakeholders, citizens, and even cities or regions can come together to co-create. The goal is often to develop a shared solution, create a prototype, and test it in preparation for a larger-scale rollout.
